Abstract

The paper analyzes the contents of the Italian law on advance provision of therapeutic treatment (DAT), approved in December 2017 after many years of debates and parliamentary projects. In particular, it examines the role that the patient's family members can play in this area, highlighting the problems of interpretation that may arise from the notion of "family member" accepted here and from that of "cohabitant".
