Abstract

In the last few decades, there has been an increased interest in the implementation of projects geared toward affective education in schools, aimed at improving social and emotional skills in children of different ages. The lack of measuring instruments in this area had stimulated the development of the Emotional Basic Knowledge Interview (Russo et al., 2009). In this study we present a new version of the same tool, ICEB-2, that includes the assessment of coping strategies, both cognitive and behavioral, spontaneously used by the child to manage his/her emotions. As in the first version, the purpose was to have an easy administration tool, less invasive as possible, free from clinical meaning, aimed at qualitative and quantitative measurement of spontaneous knowledge of children in regard to their emotional experience.
