Abstract

This study investigates the social relationships and study habits of adolescents attending the third and fourth grade of high school in the District of Latisana (province of Udine, Italy) through the direct administration of a structured questionnaire. The total number of respondents was 264, consisting of 133 males and 131 females. It emerges that these adolescents are largely oriented toward peer relations but do not disregard the family, especially in the event of problems. They need to interact with adults, to be listened to without judgment, to talk about their future, relationships with peers or family and to discuss issues of common interest. They are aware of living in a society with certain risks, in particular drug abuse.
