Abstract

In the light of a rich international research, this study examines challenging processes of family reorganization in post-migration period, focalizing cultural and relational dynamics experienced by family members and the well-being of the 2nd generation children. The analysis addresses two main research interests in various theoretical perspectives: both the intra-family cultural negotiations and the reorganization patterns of family functioning have been explored, discussing struggles and resources involved in migration transition. The comparison with a large international literature, in particular with the North American cross-cultural and cross-national studies, but also with the developmental and clinical family approaches, provides an inevitable empirical background within which the historical and intergenerational dimensions of the migration gradually have gradually reached more evidence
